Bridgette had to be put to sleep due to lymphatic cancer.
We welcomed her into our home five years ago when her original owner, a former breeder (with whom Bridgette had 3 litters totaling 14 pups), had to lessen the number of Boston Terriers in her household. Whether she adopted us or any visitors by being their Lap Girl, lunging passionate "snaplicks", uttering hunger grunts from beneath the dining table, growling and defending her bone (but with tail wagging) from Wayne's sneaky hand, she won everyone's heart. "Bridgetta" loved being on the deck in nice weather. While the other dogs would soon beg to come inside, she would find the shady spot under the umbrella table and sit there for hours, studying any movement in the woodpile or woods. Oh, she wasn't perfect. Bridgette snored...loudly. She was well known for her "Bridgie Blasters". She led the other dogs on forays down the road necessitating an electric pet fence. And despite her gentle nature, a couple of chipmunks fell victim to her hunting prowess. Bridgette was just a good, loyal, obedient dog. She was more laid back and gentle than the typically hyper Boston Terrier. She was a LOVE, and she was definitely special. We will never forget her. "Bridgette, oh Bridgette, she's my sugar-muzzle, velvet girrrrl. Bridgette, oh Bridgette, she's my sugar-muzzle, velvet girrrrl!" |

Brent, who gave Bridgette the nickname "Pirate Girl" because of her AAARGH sounds, makes her work for food.

Look at at that face! This is young mother Bridgette with one of her litter of pups, before we took ownership of her. Her original owner and breeder, upon hearing of her death, so kindly sent us this photo. |
