Ice Bucket III - UPDATED Jan 23rd

Its winter, the temps are dipping below 0, most people have traded in the disc golf bag for the skis and snowshoes and that can mean only one thing: its time for the 2009 Waterbury Center Ice Bowl - The Ice Bucket III. As in years past, the Ice Bucket is part of a nation wide series of tournaments held in the cold winter months to raise money for local food-based charities. A list of all participating tournaments can be found at the official Ice Bowl website.

Last year the Ice Bucket II raised $830 for the Waterbury Area Food Shelf. This year we hope to top $1500. This year more than ever folks who are having trouble making ends meet rely on organizations like the Food Shelf to keep their families fed. All the money raised through your entry fees, purchase of mulligans and straight up donations goes directly to the food shelf. Prizes for the tourney are donated by generous local companies and organizations.

Here are the details:
    - WHEN: January 24, 2009, Tee Time 10:00AM (please show up by 9:45 to register)
    - WHERE: Center Chains - Waterbury Center, VT
    - WHAT: 2 rounds of golf - first round singles, second round high/low doubles with a twist
    - $20 Entry fee (directly donated to the Food Shelf)
    - Mulligans for sale - $1 each before the first round, $2 each between rounds
    - Hot Lunch Provided to all participants (Thanks to the Albin Family Foundation)

Here are the local sponsors that are supporting this year's event with donations:
    - The Albin Family Foundation (Hot Lunch for all plus a generous cash donation to the Food Shelf)
    - The Alchemist (2 $25 gift certificates)
    - Magic Hat (2 Fleece vests, 2 Tee Shirts and 2 hats)
    - Mad River Glen (2 x 2-day lift passes and 2 MRG brand T-shirts)
    - Ben Parker (Innova Champion Boss)
    - Marker(6 pairs of Ski Goggles)
    - Prime Discs (6 Prime minis, 4 Prime water bottles, 2 Prime Ts, 2 VO Surges)
    - Dave Jackson
    - Center Bakery and General Store (Innova Disc Bag and Bag Straps)
    - Onion River Sports ($25 Gift Certificate)
    - Jimmz Pizza ($20 Gift Certificate)

    - Adam Goodman (Discraft Discs)
    - Johnny Betts (2 Black Falls Disc Golf Annual Memberships)
    - EESA Clothing(6 pairs of socks and 12 bandanas)

On top of these prizes we will be raffling off a brand new Discatcher Traveller. Throw it in the trunk of the car, back of the truck or strap to your bike and you'll have disc golf no matter where you go!

As more sponsors donate, this list will be updated. Looking forward to seeing everyone come out to play some disc golf and make a difference.
