Jaclyn Davidson's jewelry is made of 18k green gold. She uses a variety of precious
and semi-precious gems. Jaclyn prefers to create both production pieces and unique wearable objects.
Jaclyn employs an unusual technique of enameling called Basse-taille, in which
a pattern is engraved or chased in low relief on the object to be enameled. The entire
surface is then heated to fuse translucent enamel (glass) over the relief areas.
The resultant varying depth of enameled color heightens the sculptural effect.
Jaclyn Davidson's jewelry has always told stories. It is illustrative in its form and possesses an
innate narrative quality. Jaclyn encapsulates myths and legends from around the world.
"...her sense of color and the sculptural possibilities of her craft
lend special qualities to the surfaces of the brooches, rings,
bracelets and necklaces that have garnered her acclaim."
-Carl Little, Ornament Magazine, Autumn, 1997.
