1. Half a Novel is Better than None

Well, I apologize. I'm a little late off the mark this time. I should've let y'all know about National Novel Writing Month back in October. Here's a bit of what the NaNoWriMo people have to say about it:

National Novel Writing Month is a fun, seat-of-your-pants approach to novel writing. Participants begin writing November 1. The goal is to write a 175-page (50,000-word) novel by midnight, November 30....

Because of the limited writing window, the ONLY thing that matters in NaNoWriMo is output. It's all about quantity, not quality. The kamikaze approach forces you to lower your expectations, take risks, and write on the fly.

Make no mistake: You will be writing a lot of crap. And that's a good thing. By forcing yourself to write so intensely, you are giving yourself permission to make mistakes. To forgo the endless tweaking and editing and just create. To build without tearing down.

Plus there's ever so much more encouragement on their site.

Writing DeskBut if you're thinking (as I am), that perhaps half a month is not quite enough for a novel (although I'd love to try doing this, say, when my toddler isn't -- oh -- a toddler), how about writing a short story or three? A dozen or so poems, one a day to the end of the month? Sure, why not! And perhaps the newest design in our shop will be of some encouragement.

2. End o' the Year

Autumn FaeryWe have a couple of designs especially suited for autumn, including a little imp on a leaf, and a fairy with rather joyous expectations.

We've also brought back the Yuletide Dragon for the holidays. We're pleased to offer this little guy, watching snowflakes evaporate before they can be caught, on stamps , as well as on cards, ornaments, sweatshirts, and more.

We also offer both oval and round ornaments for your holiday decorations.

As always, if there's a design you like, and a product you like, and you don't see it in the shop, let me know! I'll make sure it appears on your item-of-choice, and then let you know it's available.

3. Tracking 2007

I'm delighted to let you know that not only do I have calendars in my shop (both the typical twelve-month and one-year/ one-page, but that two of my images were accepted into other art sites' calendars.

Have Frog, Will Travel is the November image in a "Why Fantasy is Better than Real Life" calendar from Ellen Million

Bloom has been selected to be in the sci-fi/fantasy day-by-day calendar from ArtWanted for November 21.

I hope you enjoy all of these offerings.

As always, thanks for visiting Whimsical Dreams. You are of course welcome to stop by my various online galleries and leave comments!
