I have always wanted to collect beanie babies but before my parents have said that they will just hang around my room and be junk like all my other stuffed animals and I told them that they were different, but they wouldn't let me and Clara collect beanie babies. Finally in January '98 they let us buy a couple for suveneres when we went on vacation. After that we caught beanie fever.
    Now I have 48 Ty beanie babies, 5 non-Tys, 3Ty plush and 17 teenie beanies. (all 15 '98s AND 5 '97s.) My favorite beanie is Erin.
