Dragon Etruscian Bracelet

Scanned image

  • An Etruscan type flexable chain bracelet. The Etruscans made their chain from many, many, many individual soldered loops of fine wire. I've eliminated the potential of poor solder joints by essentially crocheting the chain from a single piece of wire.
  • The catch employs a screw thread making it compact and very secure. While possible to fasten by ones self, it is much easier to fastem with help.

Modeling notes

  • The line outlines were hand traced from a celtic dragon image onto a planar surface . The surfaces between the outlines was then removed. Another surface placed .5mm below to establish the cutting depth. The addition of side rails completed the model.
  • Milled with the long axis being rotary.
  • The machining details and fabrication of the two other parts performed in wax using a manual lathe.
